I admit, I am easy to please and a movie with a badass female lead is such a weak point for me. I loved the movie and one of my favorites this year, the action scenes were top notch, the casts were amazing, it also had the quality of unpredictability which is a very important factor for me.
The scene where they went in to rescue some girls and it turned out to be a trap with soldiers waiting and shooting the hell out of them, I was confused at first then they rose and killed every soldier, there and then the grin on my face was like “Whaaaaattttttttt?!”

I started watching this movie for Charlize Theron and ended up being a fan of everyone in the movie even the weird billionaire villain with a complex.

The struggle from seeing Andy tired, I mean living for thousands of years is bound to have an effect on you, and everything feels like a waste of time. “What was the point? The world is still going to hell anyway” From this realm of thought to seeing that her work mattered and that every person she saved had done an historic contribution towards mankind, either them or their descendants which gave her the motivation to continue and the faith that there’s still some good in the world.

The love dynamic between Joe and Nicky was almost perfect. The jabs and the chemistry between them was undeniable and their love didn’t reduce their capabilities as soldiers which I think is very important. Booker’s betrayal was understandable, Unforgivable but understandable, he lost his family despite his efforts and had to be called selfish by his family because he couldn’t die, that guilt must have messed him up mentally.

Nile is new to the entire immortal thing and has a hard time believing that she is immortal, Andy had to give her the immortal 101 lessons on survival, even if she spent most of it on her ass.(Again I loved the fight scenes, it rocked my world.]

One of the earliest immortals Quynh had to spend her life under the seas, drowning again and again which clarifies the point that there are worse things than death. Seeing her visit Booker at his apartment was such a cliffhanger which makes me hope so badly for a part two(2).

The Old guard has 10/10 from me and a must watch for every action movie fans. If you have any movies you’d like me to review, comment and let me know
