Zombies

Zombies

Dead but alive;
Hungry for more,
A routine from dusk till dawn;
To fill a stomach that’ll never burst,
A train of thoughts kept abay;
A basket of dreams drained away,
To fit in with the nine to five;
To get a pay,
That’ll be spent in a day.
No dare to dream;
In a race to reach a place,
That won’t be yours;
Because it is not even your lane,
Just another tag;
Lost in the river of blood and tears,
For another man’s honey;
In a world of colours,
Just a shade of grey;
To open your eyes in the morn,
For a drop of hope;
To fill the stomach for a day.
